Mission
STEPS is a voluntary, non-profit, child care organization committed to providing a caring environment for girl children by nurturing their physical, educational and emotional development through love and care.
Vision
STEPS aims to find, foster and free abandoned baby girls, and, bring awareness about female infanticide, child trafficking and child abuse.
About
STEPS Home was born out of the vision of its directors, Isaac and Tara Monogarom. Tara felt led to start a ‘Home’ for abandoned girl children, and to make this “Home” a “Home with a Difference” centered on love and care. On May 15th 2007, the STEPS Home was founded. STEPS Home began with three little girls who were rescued from death at the hands of their families, and brought to the home. Today, they have 16 little girls between the ages of one and a half through eight years, who now call STEPS their home. They have rented a house with a square footage of about 4,800, which has ample space for the children to play in. While society has branded these little girls as being marginalized, to us, they are precious, and very close to our hearts. We want to give them the best education, bring them up with good morals and provide them with good food, hygiene and a safe and a safe and comfortable environment to live in. We looked forward to adding more children with the assurance that we could give these girls a better quality of life.
